Breast Augmentation is one of the most commonly performed and most coveted cosmetic operations. Primarily, women desire the results of this surgery due to the commonly perceived definition of ideal beauty. Full breasts have been used as the distinction between man and woman – an indication of womanhood. Therefore, the more shapely the breasts, the more "womanly" she becomes.

What kinds of implants are used?

There are 2 types of implant materials used for breast augmentation: cohesive silicone gel prosthesis and the saline filled implant. it is completely save.


What is the procedure like?

This cosmetic operation can be handled as an outpatient procedure. Although the actual operation takes an hour and a half, we advice patients to allot a total of 4 – 5 hours from the preparation stage for surgery until the recovery period.

Where are incisions made?

Incisions can be made in 3 different areas:
     1. Infra-mammary (beneath the breast): This is the most recommended type of incision as it provides faster healing and the insertion of the implant results to minimal scarring.
     2. Peri-areolar (half circle of the areola)
     3. Axillary (near the armpit)


What should I expect post-operatively?

The patient is prescribed by the surgeon to wear a support bandage for a week. A follow-up session will be performed to remove stitches about 5-7 days after surgery. No active stretching of the arms is allowed for about a week. Some swelling and bruising will be experienced for 1 to 2 weeks. Final results should be seen around the 3rd week. Patient is taught how to massage the area starting on the 2nd week after surgery. to prevent the formation of fibrous capsule.
